This is the second of three volumes on the Trump presidency by veteran Washington reporter and author Bob Woodward. Woodward documents, with scrupulous accuracy and detail, the complex crises face by Trump during the Covid pandemic. The narrative is based on hundreds of hours of interviews with those who were present in the White House at the time.

The New York Times wrote of the book: "Damning.... Unlike most Trump tapes, Woodward's actually tell us something new about the president, rather than just confirming what we think we already know." Publishers Weekly wrote: "Woodward follows Fear with another alarming and deeply reported account of turmoil, dysfunction, and recklessness within the Trump administration... This devastating report will leave a lasting mark."
